Traveling With Pets: A Guide to Pet- Friendly Vacations

Vacations with pets can be fun, but you need to be prepared for the unexpected, including traffic jams, medical emergencies, and inclement weather. Fortunately, we’ve put together a handy checklist and list of tips to make your summer vacation with Fluffy a breeze! Camping trips, the beach, lakehouse, or a pet-friendly city are great travel destinations. Fido probably won’t enjoy Disneyland or Times Square as much as you will. Road trips are definitely preferable for pets. Flying with animals is scary, unless they can be in the cabin with you. Besides, the odds are good that your dog is already used to the car, so a road trip probably won’t phase or distress him at all. If you’re planning to travel with your cat, take him on a series of short car rides before embarking on your journey. This will help him get used to the car. When traveling with cats, always keep him secured in his carrier or on a leash while in the car. Use a crate, pet barrier, or harness seat clip to keep your dog secure during travel. As much as dogs love to stick their heads out the car window, they can be injured by flying rocks and debris, and are more likely to be injured in an accident if not restrained. Make sure to stop every 2-3 hours for bathroom breaks for your pet. Most rest stops have designated pet areas where Rover can go to relieve himself and sniff some exciting new smells. You can also offer your pet some water when you stop. Always bring extra food and water. You never know when you may face delays, so be sure to take a few extra days’ supply of food. Research your destination ahead of time to ensure that your hotel or camping accommodations are pet-friendly. Can Your Child Handle a Scooter? If you’re wondering whether your child is old enough or coordinated enough to handle riding a scooter, the answer is almost certainly a resounding yes. There are a variety of scooter types, and some are even recommended for children as young as three years old. Chances are, if you are considering the possibility of a scooter, your child is at least three years old. On the other end of the spectrum, you may be wondering whether your child is too old for a scooter. The answer is probably no. Just there are scooter sizes and types that are perfectly fitting for a three-year-old, there are also great options for teenagers as well. In fact, the teenagers may even get the most enjoyment out of them as they begin to get adventurous with their riding. The other important question is whether your child would find a scooter to be enjoyable. As the parent, you know your child’s personality and interests better than anyone, so this one is primarily up to your own judgment. With that in mind, it is highly likely that your child would be able to find enjoyment in riding a scooter. One more consideration that you may be concerned about is whether your child has the coordination to ride a scooter. Fortunately, due to the wide variety of available options, you’ve got plenty of choices for scooters that offer high stability either due to having a three-wheel setup or by simply having smaller wheels. This type of scooter transforms from a sliding walker to a push car, then finally to a small scooter when your child reaches the point where they can ride on their own. This type of scooter uses a system of three small wheels for maximum stability. This is ideal for children as young as 2 years of age up to 6 years. This low center of gravity improves stability of the scooter and makes it easier to control. They need constant mental stimulation, adequate diet, enriching surroundings and lots of playtime and fun to stay active and healthy. Parakeets are intensely high on energy and require ample space for free movement and lots of instinctive activities such as flying, playing and climbing. Because of these traits, There are certain things that you need to keep in mind before setting up the cage for your pet parakeet. Cage Size Parakeet cages are designed specifically for these energetic birds, giving them ample space for free flight and movement. Many people think that small birds can be easily made to thrive in tiny cages. However, it is a misconception, since parakeets though small need large spaces to carry out their daily activities.
