Step-by-Step Assembly Instructions

Follow the steps below to assemble your Round Tempered Glass Coffee Table with Solid Wood Tripod Base (SKU:F-CYS-W487P317841).

Step 1: Attach the Short Tripod to the Long Tripod

Connecting two interlocking wooden leg pieces with a bolt.

  • Place the Long Tripod (2) on a soft, flat surface.
  • Position the Short Tripod (1) against the Long Tripod (2), aligning the bolt holes at the connection point as shown in image.
  • Slide one Spring Washer (C) and one Flat Washer (D) onto a Long Bolt (A).
  • Drive the bolt through the connection point using the Allen Key (G). Finger-tight only.

Step 2: Attach the Bar to Connect Both Tripods

Hand screwing a wooden crossbar into table leg frame.

  • Position the Bar (3) across the connection points between the Long Tripod (2) and Short Tripod (2).
  • Align the bolt holes on each end of the Bar with the holes on each tripod.
  • At each connection point, slide one Spring Washer (C) and one Flat Washer (D) onto a Long Bolt (A) and drive it in using the Allen Key (G).
  • Press one Plastic Cover (E) over each exposed bolt end to protect the connection point.

Step 3: Fully Tighten All Bolts and Complete the Base

Using an Allen key to tighten bolts on wood frame.

  • At the base connection point between the Long Tripod (2) and Bar (3), insert the Short Bolt (B) with one Spring Washer (C) and one Flat Washer (D) and drive it using the Allen Key (G).
  • Go around every bolt on the entire base and tighten them all fully using the Allen Key (G).
  • Give each bolt a firm final turn. Do not overtighten to the point of stripping, but make sure nothing feels loose.

Step 4: Place the Glass Top

Setting a round clear glass top onto wooden base.

  • Press one Glass Sucker (F) onto each of the four marked contact points on the top of the base frame.
  • Carefully lift the Glass Panel (4) with both hands and lower it down onto the base, positioning it evenly over all four Glass Suckers (F).
  • Make sure the glass sits level and centered with no overhang on any side.
  • The glass rests on the suckers, no bolts or clips are required.

Assembly Check (Before Use)

  • All tripod feet sit flat on the floor with no rocking.
  • The glass top sits evenly on all four Glass Suckers with no tilt or gap.
  • No bolts feel loose, use the Allen Key (G) to re-tighten anything that moves.
  • The base feels solid and stable when gently pushed from the side.

Safety and Usage Notes

  • This table is designed for indoor living room use only.
  • The glass top is tempered and scratch-resistant, but it is not indestructible. Avoid dropping heavy or sharp objects directly onto it.
  • Do not place excessive weight concentrated in the center of the glass.
  • Never use the glass top as a step stool or seat.
  • Keep the table away from high-traffic areas where children might run into the glass edge.
  • Do not drag the table across hard floors, lift it fully to move it.

Maintenance Tips

  • Glass top: Wipe with a soft, lint-free cloth. For smudges, apply a small amount of glass cleaner to the cloth first, never spray directly onto the glass as liquid can run into the wood base joints.
  • Wood base: Wipe down with a lightly damp soft cloth. Avoid soaking the wood or using chemical sprays as these can lift the cherry finish over time.
  • Glass Suckers: Check the four Glass Suckers (F) periodically. If they become flattened or lose grip, replace them with matching Ø25 × 8mm rubber suckers available at most hardware stores.
  • Bolts: Every few months, check all bolts with the included Allen Key and re-tighten anything that feels loose. Normal daily use causes slight vibration that can back bolts out gradually.

FAQs

1. Why does this table use a tripod base instead of four legs?

A tripod base self-levels better than four legs on slightly uneven floors. Four-legged tables need all four points to be perfectly even, one short leg and the whole table rocks. A tripod only needs three points to contact the floor, which means it naturally finds its balance without adjustment. It is also a cleaner, more open visual design that works well in smaller living rooms.

2. What is the purpose of the Spring Washer versus the Flat Washer, can I skip one?

No, both serve different jobs. The Flat Washer (D) distributes the clamping load across a wider surface area so the bolt head does not dig into the wood over time. The Spring Washer (C) sits between the Flat Washer and the bolt head and adds tension, it resists the bolt backing out from vibration. Using only one or the other reduces joint stability over time.

3. How do I know if I have overtightened a bolt and damaged the wood?

The first sign is the wood surface around the bolt hole starting to compress or crack slightly. The second sign is the bolt suddenly offering no resistance, it spins freely, meaning the thread has stripped. If either happens, stop immediately. A stripped hole in wood can be repaired by filling it with a wooden toothpick and wood glue, letting it cure fully, then re-driving the bolt into the filled hole.
