Step 1: Attach the Right Wooden Rocker Base to the Stretcher

Assembly step showing the correct alignment of a wooden dowel and bolt for the rocker base

  • Take Wood Dowel (F) and insert one end into the pre-drilled hole on Part D (wooden rocker base), as shown in the picture. Make sure it fits snugly in the hole.
  • Now, take the second end of Wood Dowel (F) and insert it into the corresponding pre-drilled hole on Part E (Stretcher). This will align Part D and Part E properly.
  • With the dowel inserted into both Part D (Right Wooden Rocker Base) and Part E (stretcher), the two parts are now aligned and secured temporarily by the dowel. Ensure the parts are straight and aligned.
  • After inserting the dowels, align the pre-drilled holes in both parts. Insert M8 × 50 mm Bolts (G) through these holes.
  • Add Spring Washers (H) and Flat Washers (I) onto the bolt, as shown in the image, to prevent loosening over time.
  • Use Allen Key (J) to tighten the bolts and securely fasten Part D (rocker base) to Part E (stretcher).

  • Adjust the placement until the pre-drilled holes on Part C (Left Rocker Base) and Part D (Right Rocker Base) are perfectly aligned with the holes on the chair body.
  • Once aligned, insert the M8 × 50 mm Bolts (G) through the holes.
  • Place Spring Washers (H) and Flat Washers (I) before the bolts to ensure extra stability.
  • Use the Allen Key (J) to tighten all bolts securely, ensuring the frame is firmly attached and evenly tightened.

Step 4: Attach the Seat Cushion (Part A) to the Frame

Final assembly step showing the chair backrest sliding into the seat and armrest frame.

  • Carefully lower Part A (Back Rest) onto the frame, ensuring it fits securely in place.
  • You may need to gently press it into position if necessary to ensure a snug fit.
  • The seat cushion should be firmly attached to the frame, ensuring it is properly aligned with no gaps between the cushion and the frame.
  • Once the seat cushion is properly positioned, check the overall stability and alignment of the chair.

FAQs

1. What size rocking chair should I choose for my space?

Measure your space and ensure at least 3 feet of clearance behind the chair for rocking motion. Small rooms work best with compact chairs (30-35 inches wide), while larger spaces can fit standard sizes (36-40 inches). Consider ceiling height for taller chair backs.

2. How do I maintain and clean a rocking chair?

Dust regularly with a soft cloth and vacuum upholstery weekly. Use wood polish every few months and tighten any loose screws. Clean spills immediately and avoid direct sunlight.

3. Are rocking chairs good for back pain?

Yes, rocking chairs can help relieve back pain by promoting gentle movement that reduces muscle tension. The rocking motion encourages better posture and engages core muscles. Choose one with proper lumbar support for best results.

4. Can a rocking lounge chair improve sleep or relaxation?

Yes, the rhythmic rocking motion triggers endorphin release and lowers stress hormones. The gentle movement calms the nervous system and prepares the body for sleep. Many find 15-20 minutes of rocking before bed improves sleep quality.
