Step-by-Step Assembly Instructions

Step 1: Assemble the Backrest and Lower Frame

  1. Place the Backrest (A) upright and perpendicular to the floor, as shown in the illustration. Ensure it is stable and supported on a flat surface.
  2. Attach the two Bottom Stretchers (F) to the lower mounting points of the backrest. Align all pre-drilled holes carefully.
  3. Position the Front Support Rail (C) between the front ends of the two Bottom Stretchers (F). Make sure the pre-drilled holes on the front support rail align correctly with the holes in the bottom stretchers.
  4. Insert the Cross Dowel Nuts / Barrel Nuts (4) into the designated holes in the Bottom Stretchers (F), ensuring the openings are correctly oriented as shown in the figure.
  5. Insert the M6 × 60 bolts with washers (2) through the armrest-side connection points and through the Front Support Rail (C) into the cross dowel nuts.
  6. Once all bolts are properly aligned, tighten all bolts evenly and securely.

Step 2: Attach the Armrests (Left & Right)

  1. With the backrest and lower frame assembly from Step 1 standing upright, position the Left Armrest (D) on the left side of the chair frame.
  2. Align the pre-drilled holes on the Left Armrest (D) with the corresponding holes on the Backrest (A) and the Bottom Stretchers (F).
  3. Insert the Cross Dowel Nuts / Barrel Nuts (4) into the designated holes in the armrest connection points, ensuring the openings face the bolt direction as shown in the illustration.
  4. Insert the M6 × 100 bolts with washers (3) through the aligned holes of the frame into the barrel nuts.
  5. Repeat the same procedure for the Right Armrest (E) on the opposite side.
  6. Once both armrests are correctly aligned, tighten all bolts evenly and securely.

Step 3: Install the Seat Panel

  1. Ensure the chair frame, including the Backrest (A), Armrests (D & E), and lower structure, is fully assembled and standing upright on a flat surface.
  2. Take the Seat Panel (B) and position it above the seat frame, aligning it with the inner ledges and support rails.
  3. Slide the Seat Panel (B) gently into place from the indicated direction, ensuring it sits evenly across the frame.
  4. Press down firmly so the seat panel rests flat and securely on all supporting rails.

Step 4: Secure the Seat Panel (Final Step)

  1. Ensure the Seat Panel (B) is correctly positioned and sitting flat on the seat frame.
  2. Using the M3.5 × 35 Screws (1), fasten the seat panel to the chair frame at the indicated fixing points (four locations).
  3. Insert each screw through the pre-drilled holes in the frame and into the underside of the seat panel.
  4. Tighten all screws evenly using a suitable screwdriver. Do not overtighten, as this may damage the wood.

Once all screws are securely tightened, the chair assembly is complete and ready for use.

FAQs

1. What is the best placement for a 2-seater bench in a garden?

The best placement for a 2-seater garden bench is on a flat, stable surface with partial shade to prevent weather damage and fading. Position it near focal points like flower beds, pathways, or under a tree to create a relaxing seating zone. Ensure there is enough surrounding space for easy access and comfortable movement.

2. How do you clean a 2-seater garden bench properly?

Start by brushing off loose dirt and debris, then wash the surface with mild soap and warm water using a soft cloth or sponge. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to air dry completely before use. For wooden benches, apply a suitable protective oil or sealant periodically to maintain durability.

3. How long does a 2-seater garden bench typically last?

A well-maintained 2-seater garden bench can last between 5 to 15 years depending on material and weather exposure. Metal and treated hardwood benches generally offer longer durability than untreated wood. Regular cleaning, covering during harsh weather, and proper placement significantly extend its lifespan.
