Important Notes Before You Start
Before opening any hardware bags, read through these points carefully. They will save you time and help you avoid the most common assembly mistakes.
- Lay out all parts on a clean, flat surface and check them against the parts list below.
- Do not sit in or use either chair until assembly is fully complete and all bolts are firmly tightened.
- Having a second person assist makes assembly easier, some parts need to be held while bolts are inserted.
- The cushions ship vacuum-compressed and need 3-4 hours to fully expand before use, plan for this before you start.

Step-by-Step Assembly Instructions
You are assembling two Outsunny 2-Piece Outdoor Patio Rocking Chairs with Mesh Deep Seats (SKU:84G-540V01GY). Complete all four steps for one chair, then repeat the entire process for the second. Each step builds on the last, so follow them in order.
Step 01: Set Up the Chair Frame
This step gets the three main metal frame pieces aligned and loosely held together before bolting.

- Place 2 Curved Rocker Side Frames (A) on the floor parallel to each other, with the curved rocker feet pointing downward. These are the left and right sides of the chair, the pieces that sit on the ground and allow the rocking motion.
- Take 1 Back Support Frame (B) and position it between the two Side Frames, slotting each end into the connection points on the inner face of each Side Frame as shown in image.
- Align the bolt holes on all three pieces so they line up cleanly on both sides.
- Hold everything loosely in position, do not bolt yet. You will permanently secure the frame in Step 02.
Step 02: Insert the Cross Bars and Bolt Everything Together
This is the main assembly step. You will add the Cross Support Bars and permanently bolt all frame connections together.

- Slide 2 Cross Support Bars (C) horizontally between the two Side Frames, one bar near the front legs of the chair and one bar on the back legs.
- The flat end caps on each bar should sit flush against the Side Legs Frames with the bolt holes aligned as shown in image.
- At every connection point across the entire frame, attach the hardware in the following order:
- Slide Washer (BB) onto Bolt (AA) first.
- Push the bolt through the hole from the outside of the frame.
- Slide another Washer (BB) onto the exposed end on the other side.
- Thread on Nylon Lock Nut (CC) and tighten by holding the bolt head with Allen Key (EE) while turning the nut with Open-End Wrench (FF).
- Thread Acorn Cap Nut (DD) over the exposed bolt tip to cover any sharp edges.
- Once all bolts are in, go back and check every single connection point. All bolts should be firmly tightened and the frame should feel completely solid with no wobble or flex anywhere.
Step 03: Prepare and Place the Cushion
The Tufted Full-Length Cushion (D) ships are vacuum-sealed and compressed. This is completely normal and not a defect, but it does require time to recover its shape before use.

- Remove the cushion from its sealed bag and shake it for about 5 minutes. This helps air push back into all the filling sections and starts the expansion process.
- Set the cushion aside on a flat surface and leave it to rest for 3 to 4 hours. The filling will gradually absorb air and return to its full original thickness and shape. Do not skip this step, as placing the cushion on the chair before it has fully expanded will result in an uncomfortable, improperly shaped seat.
- Once fully expanded, drape the cushion over the assembled chair frame. It is shaped to naturally contour over the curved structure, covering both the seat and backrest in one continuous piece. Adjust it until it sits evenly and centered.
Step 04: Assembly Check Before Use
Run through all the checks below on both chairs before sitting down.

- Rock each chair gently and check that all 4 rocker feet make even, stable contact with the floor throughout the full rocking motion with no lifting or wobbling on one side.
- Grip the backrest firmly and push and pull. It should feel completely locked in with zero movement.
- Check every bolt connection point and confirm each one has its Acorn Cap Nut (DD) fully threaded on with no exposed bolt tips.
- Confirm the cushion has completed its full 3-4 hour expansion rest and is sitting evenly and centered on the frame.
- Check that no sharp edges or pinch points are exposed anywhere on the frame.
If everything checks out, your chairs are ready to use.
Safe Use Guidelines
These chairs are designed for home use, indoors, on a covered porch, a balcony, or a patio. To use them safely, keep the following in mind.
- Placement: Always place on a flat, stable surface as uneven ground can cause tipping. This chair set has a maximum weight recommendation of 265 lbs per chair.
- What to Avoid: Do not hang anything from the frame, do not allow anyone to stand on the chair, and keep away from open flames, grills, and heat sources as the cushion fabric is not fire-resistant.
- Weather: Move indoors or to a covered shelter before storms or strong wind, and cover whenever not in use for several days.
- Children & Damage: Always supervise children around rocking chairs and stop using immediately if the frame is bent, cracked, or any weld looks damaged.
Maintenance, Care & Storage
- Frame: Wipe down with a soft damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Clear leaves, water, and debris from joints after rain to prevent rust. Re-tighten all bolts every few weeks with the included wrenches.
- Cushions: Spot clean with mild soap and warm water, rinse, and air dry fully before putting back on the chair. Never store while damp as this causes mold.
- Storage: Store cushions completely dry in a clean dry space such as a closet or storage bin. Cover metal frames with a patio furniture cover or bring indoors during long periods of non-use.

FAQs
These chairs are designed for flat surfaces only. A sloped deck will cause the chair to drift in one direction while rocking, which is both uncomfortable and a tipping hazard. If your deck has a slight slope, leveling feet or a flat platform mat placed under each chair is recommended before use.
The chairs do not come with floor protection pads included in the box. If you are placing them on hardwood, tile, or any scratch-sensitive surface, it is recommended to pick up self-adhesive felt furniture pads from a hardware store and apply them to the underside of the rocker feet before use.
These chairs sit low to the ground due to their rocking lounge design, which can make getting up and down more challenging for elderly users or those with limited mobility. If ease of getting in and out of the chair is a concern, this is worth considering before purchase.
Yes, these chairs work fine on carpet or rugs indoors. However, keep in mind that the rocking motion on thick carpet may feel slightly restricted compared to a hard floor. If you notice the rocker feet sinking into a thick rug, placing a thin hard mat underneath will give you a smoother rock.
