It's made out of sturdy metal that will hopefully last lifetime.
It's very sturdy and they fixed the shipping issues because my feeder came with plenty of padding to protect it. This is a better setup for ducks.

This is a very high quality feeder. It required no real assembly except for when you want to mount it to a wall. This will be a great feeder that will be easy to refill and provide easy access to food for our hens.
