Beautiful, solid piece of kitchen furniture but the directions are frustrating!
I needed more storage and counter space in my kitchen. This is a nice piece of furniture and I really like it. The only downer was that the directions stink. The truth is that only the directions for the first step are totally and absolutely useless because the pictures give you NO idea which end of the pieces is up or down, inside or outside facing. It isn't obvious to non-cabinet makers and IT REALLY MATTERS. I've put together several pieces of furniture, so I'm not a complete Tyro, but I'm also no expert. The first step took well over an hour because not only was it nearly impossible to guess which way the pieces went, but I lacked the experience to just know. That was where I finally found the clue to doing the first step correctly. The whole thing took me about 3 1/2 or 4 hours and I was mightily frustrated with the process. A more experienced furniture builder may have just known what to do. Now I'm enjoying the cart and I really love it. It's sturdy, maneuverable and very nice looking. All it really needs is someone to include a more detailed first picture, and possibly a FEW words of explanation. I write training and help systems for medical research software for a living. I get a piece of software, figure out how it's supposed to work, and tell people who are not software experts the things they need to know to make it work. I'm NOT a software engineer. I'm a curriculum designer! Someone like ME should have written the directions and drawn the pictures, not a design engineer who thinks that everyone has the same background knowledge that he or she does. (Sorry programmers, but the same thing happens when you guys write the help. It borders on useless!)It's really not a hard piece of furniture to put together IF you know which way the pieces fit in the first step. All the other steps were pretty self-explanatory, even for me.

Nice Island
I purchased this for my daughter as a house warming gift and she loves it. Works will as a prep station and has nice storage. The lift up counter is convenient as extra serving or eating space.this unit takes about 3 hours to assemble.

Great for college apartment
We bought this for my daughter's college apartment because it was a very small apartment with limited storage. It has been a great space saving and storage piece. The side lifts up to double as a table. We found a couple of stools at a garage sale, so know she has a very cute breakfast nook area. I holds a lot more extra groceries and paper towels than I expected it too. We looked at similar rolling kitchen islands and the usual places, but this one seemed like the best quality for the price. This is not going to be the type of piece that she will want to keep and give to her grandchildren, but it's sturdy enough and nice enough for her current needs. Everyone who sees it can't believe that it was a "do it yourself assembly", so it definitely has had the décor effect. The assembly was a little bit challenging just because it's a larger piece and it's black which makes it a little hard to see the holes. But it's not so complicated that you need to call the family engineer in the assist. You just need an extra pair of hands and a couple of good screw drivers. My husband used a low power hand drill for the larger screws. Me and my daughter helped with hand screw drivers for the smaller pieces. It did take a little extra elbow grease, but she is very happy with how it looks and it's functionality. I was happy with the price and quality.
