Good Product, Great Customer Service

I got two of these to shade my back patio. It gets afternoon sun so we had to keep our blinds closed to our living room, making it dark all the time. Wanted to have some light without the heat. These will allow that.I put them both up by my self and installation wasn't too difficult. As many reviews mention, the directions are not good. Written word is not too bad. I put them both up by my self and installation wasn't too difficult. As many reviews mention, the directions are not good. Written word is not too bad. You have to read some of it a couple of times to get what it is saying. But the illustrations are down right terrible. They are too small without detail. After installing both, I noticed the valance wasn't hanging straight down. That's when I noticed I had the front support on incorrectly. The awning works, but it didn't look right and the front support sticks up and would catch the rain runoff. Luckily, you can change it without taking the whole awning down. You have to be careful and make sure the wind isn't gusting, but it can be done. The illustration of the front support is a long skinny rectangle. When in fact it has a definite shape. Showing the end view shape and where the valance is supposed to go would have been good, and saved me some time and effort.

I have not owned an awning before so I can't tell if they are the best quality, but they feel pretty solid. I did roll them out when the wind was blowing/gusting a bit and they managed well. They did move around some, but held up fine. However; I would definitely roll them up if it were windy. The roller mechanism and cranks feel solid and work smoothly. There are reviews saying the fabric fades fast. I got the brown, so maybe it won't be too bad.

I did have a couple of damage/defects on one of the awnings. One of the mounting bracket was deformed. It looked like it was welded crooked. There was no damage to the paint, so I don't think it was damaged in shipment. The other issue was shipment damage. One of the plastic covers that goes over the end mechanism had the tabs that hold it on broken. I called Aosom and went through the automated call. I waited and then the system said I had elected a call back. I didn't. I was a bit concerned, but I decided to send an email. I had just finished my email and got a call back. Santiago was very polite and we discussed the parts replacement. He looked up in his system and said they had the bracket but not the plastic part. So he suggested they send me a new awning. I certainly didn't expect that. The new awning showed up in a few days and now I have a complete awning for parts. Put away

Perfect for toy hauler toy deck!!

So far so good! We installed this on the back of our toy hauler. We had to pull inner paneling back to make sure we were securing to studs. Provides instant shade for our toy deck!! Love it!
